A FEW COOL THINGS ABOUT “TOUR DE LANCE”
This is my new book. I think it was worth a year of my life, but who knows? You can read the opening chapter here, and see what some people besides me think of it, and poke around a bit through my writing. I am notoriously lackadaisical when it comes to what I guess is called marketing. Mostly I don’t mind talking to a few people now and then about real things, but I lose interest when I am supposed to sell myself and, anyway, I am just as bad at it as I am at small talk. I like happening upon books that amid all of our age’s noise speak for themselves, and I believe that the ideal is when the work says more than the worker, and, though I admit to having bought more than a few books in my life based on the cover, I have found that for me it is the words that live on and on. I think my new book is good enough to have a chance at achieving some of these things. Maybe you’ll agree.
